Birthday Charms – Floating Pinwheel Quilt

8 / 30 / 178 / 26 / 17

Our guild has had a birthday charm exchange of sorts the past couple of years. If you signed up you stated the type of fabric you wanted, I choose “brights.” Then on your birthday you would get a card with a 5″ block in your color choice. You of course provided the same for others… Read More

Out of the Box Pattern with Childhood Dresses

3 / 11 / 163 / 6 / 16

Janet was one of my pattern testers and she used her daughter’s dresses for the prints in the quilt.  It was the perfect way to create a memory quilt. Janet used 2 1/2 inch squares making the finished size 52″ x 60.” Here is a close-up of the quilting. Janet wanted something airy and easy,… Read More

Charm Square Friendly Beginner Pattern for Baby, Lap or Autograph Quilt

3 / 4 / 163 / 10 / 16

Woven Sticks and Stones in Brown This pattern was inspiration for a beginner quilting class. I wanted something with minimal cutting and piecing with no seams to match and with a look that seems harder than it is. I used straight line quilting so a new quilter would feel as though they could be successful… Read More

Week in Review, June 8, 2014

6 / 8 / 147 / 8 / 14

I spent time ripping the binding out on this quilt, the “whys” are here.  MaDe a lot of progress on piecing this quilt: Which uses the same fabrics with a different sashing and slightly different pattern as this one.  My disappearing pinwheel is on the long arm. I could knock it out in no time once… Read More

Weekend Review February 9, 2014

2 / 9 / 146 / 13 / 14

A snow day sew day this week helped greatly towards my goals this week. I addition to what I did on Tuesday, I was also able to make more progress on these: Colson’s Baseball Quilt is finished and delivered. My Whole Cloth Quilt may be close to being finished, not sure if I should do more… Read More

Snow Day Sew In

2 / 5 / 144 / 5 / 15

Our offices were closed for 2 days and my ADHD kicked in so I juggled between many projects moving them all closer to completion. Hopefully by my Week in Review Sunday post, I’ll have a couple of finishes. Busy sewing instead of posting on the Journey, Jackie

Week in Review February 2, 2014

2 / 2 / 145 / 30 / 14

I have only been at this for a month, but I am finding it very helpful to list weekly my progress. I tend to forget what I have done and focus on what I have yet to finish otherwise. This week’s progress: Red, Black and White quilt is finished, though I need a name. Tumbler… Read More

Week In Review 1.26.2014

1 / 26 / 145 / 30 / 14

How can a week pass by so quickly? Especially when I have to look back and wonder what I did. I was sidetracked this week by making the Disappearing Pinwheel block by Missouri Star Quilt Company. A mistake challenged me to make alternating blocks. The top is pieced and I plan to write details on what… Read More

About Me!

I am a passionate quilter who sleeps, eats and breathes quilting and fabric when I am not working or spending time with my husband, kids and grandchildren. As a teacher, pattern designer and quilt maker, I hope to instill the love of quilting in others. For those that are not inclined to make their own quilt, I love designing and working with customers to create an heirloom they can pass down for generations to come.
