Mini Charm/Postage Stamp Around the World Quilt Exchange

Several years ago, (Charms in all sizes) I exchanged 100’s of 1 1/2 squares with other quilts.  I added many many more for a total of 2457 squares.

I played with many layout options but finally decided on a modified “Trip Around the World” using a row of whites/creams around each color. Each color block was a 9-patch.

I quilted it with a circle within a circle.

Here is a close-up of the back and sneak peek at the binding.

The quilt is 47 x 65 inches.

This was mostly a leader/ender quilt though at one point I started sewing more than one unit at a time to speed things along.

I’m collecting more 1 1/2″ squares, this time all bright fabrics and I have a more specific quilt in mind.

Crazy making, on the journey. Jackie

I still have all my 1 1/2″ squares from that swap too. I’m still debating what to do with them. I too probably need more.

Gretchen, part of me wished I had had more patience to do something different with them, but at some point you just have to move on.
