Curves, Straight Lines and “Square Meandering”

This is a recent finish for a customer. This quilt is for her son so she wanted simple lines with minimal quilting.

I carried my stitch in the ditch lines into the colorful block and then did curve piecing towards the center of those blocks.

In the borders I did what I call “square meandering.”

It’s always a joy to quilt Traci’s quilt. She provides plenty of backing fabric, a nicely squared up quilt and interesting patterns to be creative with design. I also love her stories of the fabrics she uses, the “why” and the resulting quilt.
