Getting ready for a mini-camping trip to visit 4 grandsons. As I was making plans with my daughter for our visit, she told me I am the “sewing grandma.” Makes me smile. She also asked if they could fly kites. The back story to this is found here and what surprises me, is the last time we flew kites was several years ago. Grandpa said he is fine as long as he isn’t the one coached to “run faster.”
Most of the time will be sent with 4 busy young boys (11, 9, 7 and almost 5) so I don’t plan to get much done. I am prepared though.
I will take my machine. I expect there may be some early morning times I can sew before we get on the road to my daughter’s house. These are leftover pieces from the Scrap in a Box girl quilt so I’ll be piecing 1/2 square triangles with these.
I store all my selvage edges in a bag hanging from my cutting table.
I’ve been working on a crochet rug with my selvage edges so I made another ball to take on the trip.
Even though I said I would make quilts with any more selvage edges, I saved these out. Just in case. I can always throw them back into the bag.
And while little work has been done on this, it’s a portable project:
Have quilting/sewing supplies, will travel.
