We have a special needs daughter who lives not too far in an assisted living situation with a roommate. We recently bought Melissa new bedroom furniture so I thought it would be fun to make her a new quilt. I’ve had this fabric for a really long time and knew she would love the colors as well as feel (it’s flannel) and especially the fun prints.
In order to get it down quickly I choose to piece squares, and more squares and more until I had row after row after row. Too many in fact.
So I removed a few rows and added some to the sides to make it wider.
I still had some left over fabrics so I pulled a couple of other fabrics so I could make a small lap quilt for her roommate who is a tiny woman.
Melissa’s quilt is done with a free-motion feathery spiral.
I didn’t take measurements but it is very large for her twin bed and she loves. it.
A quick couple of finishes in time for Christmas.
