Sewing with Children, Noah’s Veteran Quilt

Noah has been working on this for some time and I know he is very happy to be done.

Noah is 7 and this is his first quilt. I cut the fabric, he helped pin (I pin ends and the middle, he pins in between), he does all the piecing. I loaded the quilt on the long arm and he did the stitching  under close supervision as seen here. I prepared the binding and helped with the wonder clips, he did the sewing. I prepared the label and he helped me sew it on.

Binding is not a favorite task by many quilters and Noah is no exception:

Here he is proudly holding it up.

Here is his label. I had no idea what he was going to write. Quite amazing if you ask me.

It doesn’t get any more precious than this.

Great idea. Anything they do, goes in a special file for tugging on the heart strings. 🙂

Fantastic!! So exciting that he did so much work.

He likes making pillowcases more than quilts. He’s leaving the quilting up to his sister. Her attention for quilting for a 5 year old is amazing.

He might change his mind later as he gets older.
