Vacation Fabric Shopping

I will buy fabric as needed, or on sale throughout the year at my local quilt shop, Show Me Quilting, which I am thrilled in just a few miles from me. When we vacation/camp each year, we are 1 hour north of MO Star Quilt Company, so a day trip is planned each year. I also save for it. 🙂

This year, I was looking for a specific fabric for a baby quilt. The baby’s room will have a travel theme with posters from around the world and it was painted a specific blue (I had a photo copy of the paint chip) to go by. I had no idea if I could find something suitable, but I am super excited with what I found.

Fabric with the world, the perfect blue, and the perfect print of places around the world.

Son and Son-in-Law are Red Sox and Cub fans. Couldn’t resist. Husband didn’t like the KC Royals fabric…. 🙁

Just because. The dark fabric is actually a dark purple that goes perfectly with some of the color in the fabric inside.

What I needed (and my Golden Star promotion tickets).

What I needed

These books are just fun. They have stories, tutorials and inspiration. I’m caught up with what is out.

Mo Block Books

The town of Hamilton is very small and not a place to visit other than the fabric shops. I brought my camera and planned to take pictures but got caught up visiting the fabric shops (there are currently 6) and they  provide a map to the shops. Each shop has a different focus.

Here is a photo of one of the murals on the side of a building that I took with my phone.

The day was perfect for walking around town between shops.

A fun day. On the journey, Jackie
