Jean’s Nursery Rhyme Quilt

This was a collaborative effort. Jean wanted to make a baby quilt for a new grand baby similar to one she had done for her first grandchild several years ago.  She had photos, general dimensions, fabric and the embroidery designs.

We designed it, choose fabric placement and what embroidery designs to use.

My turn. Cut all the pieces and stitched out all the blocks.

Jean’s turn. She came to my house on class nights to do the piecing.Jean's Nursery Quilt 2

My turn. Quilt, trim and bind. I chose a simple woven ribbon design around the designs and in the borders. I had a variegated blue that was perfect.

The light blue border on the edge is a flange. The darker blue is the binding before it was completed.

I had the best of all worlds with this one. I got to design a quilt, teach someone and then do the quilting!

The quilt finished at  34 x 45, a great size for the baby to grow into.

Living my passion, one quilt at a time. On the journey, Jackie
