This was a mini retreat club project based on Missouri Star’s tutorial:
I used Moda’s Candy “Hello Fall” by Sandy Gervais. I have several more. If I was so inclined (I’m not) I’d make placemats. Maybe I would for my kids.
I used my sashiko machine for the quilting. It seemed to be the perfect project for this type of stitch.
The machine gives a hand-stitched look:
I keep longer lengths (shorter pieces go in a strip bin) of binding in a plastic drawer unit. You just never know when you’ll need binding that isn’t yards and yards long.
A sampling where I found the perfect binding:
The dark brown on the right was perfect for the back fabric and framed the top well.
Another finish (even if it is small) on the journey, Woo Hoo! Jackie 🙂
