Moda Candy Veteran Quilt

Mini Charms Moda Candy

Moda’s 2 1/2 inch squares are called “candy” for good reason. They are hard to resist. Here is my shelf showing great restraint. I gave a lot away, made several mug rugs and I’m working on another 2 projects.

This quilt is using the primitive gathering collection.

Simple but I loved how it ended up.Veteran Quilt Mini Charms

It seemed to be the perfect quilt to practice “orange peel” quilting. I did it free hand, no rulers.

Here is a close-up of the border quilting. Have you ever noticed how those stray threads just jump into your pictures (and on your clothes)?

This quilt finishes at 35.5 x 35.5 inches. My veteran quilts usually are all donated but this one is for sale in my Etsy shop. All proceeds will go towards fabric for more veteran quilts.

I may repeat this pattern. It was quick and easy and I think a great little quilt.

Any finishes in your Friday?

Enjoy the Journey, Jackie

Lovely quilt and the quilting looks awesome!

Thanks Gretchen. I’m making another one and I don’t know if I should practice the same design free motion again or try it with a ruler. Which I am sure will slow me down considerably.
