Christmas Sewing with Camden

Camden (10) wanted to use the decorative stitches on the machine. I thought an ornament would be a good project. While working with decorative stitches is fun, it is time-consuming.

He started by going through my Christmas scrap bin:Christmas ScrapsSewing, crazy quilt style:Camden SewingIn process:Camden In ProcessChristmas Star:

He wanted to see how it worked, so I let him play for a bit and told him to stitch out his name. Not too bad for a first try. I think he was surprised at how hard it is. Camden on Long ArmLove your smile and joy Camden. What a great gift for your parents and your tree at home. Miss you. Love Grandma

What a great job on the ornament and his name! And I’m impressed that he wanted to use the decorative stitches.

I don’t think he likes sewing as much as he does seeing the fancy stitches stitch out, though it takes patience since fancy stitches take a while.
