The top fabric is for a quilt I’m planning, pictured on my design wall. The other 2 fabrics were on sale and will make good backing fabrics. The thread is Superior. My local quilt shop carries it and I wanted to give it a try. The hexagons, are just because.
I started cutting scraps for another veteran star quilt. This quilt is off the long arm and ready for me to finish binding. I plan to do a serpentine stitch on the machine. It was pieced by one of the ladies that help make the We Honor Veteran quilts. A postcard for someone at my quilt guild who is moving away. I’ve been showing my recent postcards (Easter and spring postcard exchange) and it was suggested we make postcards as a gift. I just started attending the guild, so I really don’t know this person, but I plan to wish her well in her new location. This veteran quilt is now on my long arm, pieced by a woman in her 80’s who is no longer getting out much.
So what’s on your design wall this week?
