I am making quilts for the men in my life for next year and I have a pattern I have drafted for these fabrics that I plan to use and I need help deciding what solid to use for the sashing (narrow, will finish at 1.5 inches).
In each photo the top picture is the auto setting and the second photo is monochromatic. The solid in each sample matches a color in the focus fabrics, though it is hard to see in the pictures.
Medium gray. It really seems to disappear in the second photo, which surprised me.
Off-white is the solid in this picture. It really appears to be too stark I think.
This next one is a cream-colored solid. It shows up lighter in the picture. This last one is black, the monochromatic photo surprised me.
Realizing it is a quilt for a man, I’m not interested in too much contrast but I do want it to have some interest.
Your turn to weigh in. Medium gray, off white, cream or black? Why? I wondered if I should look at light gray fabrics as well.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Waiting for you on the Journey, Jackie
