Week in Review March 9, 2014

How is it a week can go by so fast?

My progress this week:

I finished up these donated blocks, a post and tutorial to follow.

The binding is on this birthday quilt for Camden, the post will go up in May on his birthday.3-DSCN6004

I cut pillowcase “kits” for Grace and Noah to sew on one of their visits (maybe tonight, we’re babysitting).2-DSCN5986

I bought this fabric to use as the backing of Scrapitude. I debated between this color and a blue paisley. I am already second guessing my choice but oh well. I based my decision on using a neutral thread color for quilting.1-DSCN6010

I also did some free motion feather practice. Going in different directions is challenging, but then any direction is still challenging. I keep telling myself I learned to do it well on my domestic machine so I can learn to do it well on a long arm. I’m not worrying about the traveling so much right now as much as I am the feather shape. I almost didn’t post a picture, but I know down the road it will help to remember where I have been.

This quilt went in the mail for Caiden’s birthday:7-DSCN5838

And my postcard for the spring swap by Sandi also was mailed (no spoilers):2-DSCN5904

I am following Darla and her “March-a-Long where you spend at least 15 minutes a day quilting. That includes anything related. While I didn’t get to quilt each day, trust me, my mind quilts any free moment it can get.

It’s satisfying getting a couple of projects done, even if one was given to me, already pieced and quilted. What finishes do you have this week?
