Whole Cloth Quilt Update

This is a project from last year and the focal point of the Quilt it Challenge I did with Kitty Pearl over at Road Home Quilting. The goal of the challenge was to end the year with a whole cloth quilt. Size optional. This will finish at 17 x 32.

I have run into a difficulty in that the thread color disappears into the fabric so the design gets lost.

I redid the lettering by thread painting the outline of the letters which helped a lot.

4-DSCN5680-0012-DSCN5522-001Should I call it done, lesson learned and move on? Or do I retrace each stitching line?

it is beautiful and I am sure the picture loses some of the definition. I would leave it as is unless it will bug you. I have done similar things and everyone said let it go. But my OCD said you can fix it. So I did!

Thanks Norma for stopping by. I have the impulse to fix it, but not the desire. I figure if I sit on it a bit, I will be able to let it go.

You could think of it as offering more detail to the close observer who approaches it. It looks like you have started to darken the feathers. You might continue a little of that, to draw the viewer closer. Make design with what you darken, but leave it incomplete in some strategic way. I would not go over the whole thing.

      Claire,

I noticed that the feathers looked darker as well but that is because of the traveling. The circles have a lot of traveling on them as well. Maybe I need to hang it where I plan to put it and see what I think from that vantage point. Thanks!

OH! So cool! I’d probably leave it. I suspect it is very interesting in person. 🙂

Great job Jackie! I think it looks good the way it is with Welcome being the focal point. There’s noo need to re-do the whole stitching because it looks perfect already.
