Once a month there is Club at our local sewing machine dealer, Missouri Sewing Machine Company. You come, bring your projects, a treat to share, gather ideas, make new friends. Months ago, we decided as a group to have a “mini retreat” in the afternoon. We take turns sharing/teaching project ideas. This month it is a bargello type Christmas table runner.
Everyone was asked to bring 14 2 1/2 inch fabric strips so we could swap fabrics. We kept two of our own strips and choose 5 sets of two from what everyone brought. Next time I need a to bring my camera, it would have been great to take a picture.
Here are the ones I choose, my fabric is the white with blue. I wanted a variety of colors that would flow one to the next with another light in the mix. I had to leave early and my goal was to get one block completed before I had to leave. Which I did. However it meant no pictures of the process.
Here is my first block. I can’t wait to see it finished. While I have my Christmas shopping done, it seems the busyness of the season has still caught up with me. I’m still hoping for small blocks of time to sew from now until family arrives the weekend before Christmas. Plus I have some projects planned with some grandchildren that need to be finished up.
