Labor Day Sew-in, also known as #LDSI

If you are on Twitter (I can be found at sewexcitedquilt) there is a Sew-in going on this weekend. Just use the hash tag #ldsi to follow other quilters.

Please note, this is just excuse for us quilters to live, breath, talk, share pictures and ask opinions about quilting as much as possible over the next few days.

It starts today (Friday) and goes through Labor day. Come join in the fun.

I will be spending time camping with 2 sweet grandchildren (3 and 5) so they will keep me busy and at first I thought “there will be no quilting in my life this long weekend.”

After I gave it some thought I realized there is more than one way for a quilter to get in some quiltly time. So here goes…..

I may make a little progress on these two hand projects:

Dresen Plate

Winter Wonderland

Possibly teach myself to needle tat, for embellishments (another Craftsy class):

Or catch up on some of Jaye’s Creative Prompts, or practice quilting designs:

Then there is this Christmas project meant for little hands:

We’ll see. The only thing I may have to show for the weekend is 1 tired grandma and 2 happy children.

What are your Labor Day weekend plans?

Enjoy the Journey, Jackie

You will have a great time with your grands I know! I hope you get a little time in for handwork and can say hi #LDSI here and there. It will be interesting to see what they do with the markers.

      Thanks Diane,
We will have fun, though I am sure they will wear me out. Markers+children=mess. Though I am hoping not.

I plan on crockpot cooking so that I have time to load two quilts on my Grace Frame and get them finished.

Now THAT sounds like a great plan. Is your Grace frame mid or long arm?

I have any original Grace frame. I have between 4″ – 6″ of sewing space. My machine is a BabyLock and has a large throat space. Simple, but gets the job done.
