My studio is located off the garage, which by the way is a perfect place to spray baste quilts on a cold day since it has a heater, though this picture was taken in the summer time.
Once through the door, I have hooks for coats and purses on the right with stairs to the main part of the house are on the left.
Take a couple of steps and this is what you see:
Much of what you see has been re-purposed, with a few specially purchased items.
This space includes 6 work stations for sewing machines, a “nook” that is shared by my serger, a 1927 Singer and an embellisher which is also at the opposite end of my quilting table. I also have a 1937 Singer in a cabinet that has found a home in the room. There are 2 large cutting tables, one small cutting station, two ironing boards and irons along with a “mini” iron for sewing station pressing. Every nook and cranny has storage of some sort and I make use of the walls with a design boards, shelving and of course quilts.
Next up – focus on the student spaces.
What space do you call your own?
Enjoy the Journey, Jackie
