Hurricane Sandy Quilt Headed South

This went in the mail yesterday:Hurricane SandyTo Oklahoma for those impacted by the tornado that hit Moore not too long ago.

I started this quilt last fall and while making it decided I would send it east for Hurricane Sandy. I never finished it in time. Sadly I knew there would be other disasters where it would make its way to a new home. And it has.

It is the Tossed (or Disappearing) 9 Patch pattern in which I started with a 10 inch square collection from Connecting Threads. I added a cream for the centers and more fabrics for the borders to make it larger.

It finishes at 80×93 so it is fairly large. While the weather is warm now, they will still be rebuilding when the seasons change. Hopefully it will make a difference in someone’s life.
