Fun Fabric Friday

I have a dear friend that likes to spend time at my house taking pictures of my fabric, tools, pins, needles, you name it she takes it. More on her here.

This past week she had fun with a set of mini charms ( 2 1/2 inch squares) from Moda that I recently purchased. P1180521 (800x600)_wmNow I am the first to admit I have a hard time spending money, even on fabric. And buying a package of mini charms is not the best way to spend your fabric dollars.

P1180509 (800x600)_wmI however, didn’t care. I have seen the mini charms in the store and passed them up, but not this time. By golly, I wanted them, good sense or not. And I have no regrets. I think they are fun, and apparently so did Kathy.

Who says you need a reason other than for the pleasure of it?

In case you think Kathy was the only one working in my studio this week…

Here is some of what I puttered with:

Dresden Plate Baby Quilt

This is my first time doing a Dresden plate.
The pattern calls for 20 wedges.
I only used 19.
Has that ever happened to you?

Thanks Kathy 🙂
Enjoy the Journey, Jackie

Can’t wait to see what you make with those mini charms. Saw them the other day but didn’t buy. Maybe I should have….

Kathy has an eye for artistic fabric arrangements. What a fun friend! Yes, I made another kind of Dresden plate which had either 1 fewer or 1 more blade than the pattern. It was at least 15 yrs ago, so I can’t remember which. I just went with the flow. My friend loved it as it was a gift.

  • Wow–nice pics! Can she come to my house and take pictures of my quilts? She’s got an eye for that. And I like your Dresden Plate regardless of how many blades it has. 🙂
