This past weekend two of our grandchildren stayed with us, Noah who is 4 and his sister Grace, who is 3. A while back when they stayed with us, we made pizzas and they have wanted to do it again. Having an overnight visit was the perfect opportunity.
Deciding that Noah needed help:
Noah decided he wanted to do his own:
Now for the story about the pillowcases.
Naturally after we were getting settled for movies and popcorn, Noah asks to do some sewing. He asked if he could make another blanket for his larger snake (he loves animals of all kinds). Stories of his earlier sewing adventures are here and here. He then asked me the typical, “Guess what I want to be when I grow up?” Not having a clue of where he was going with that I got a, “I want to teach people how to sew.” I am sure there was a bit of let’s butter Grandma so I can sew now instead of wait. 🙂
Since it was late, I suggested we could make pillowcases for their bed and because I would have to buy the fabric we would have to wait.
I purchased enough fabric to make larger aprons as they are outgrowing the ones I made them last year. How quickly they grow.
Grace and Noah, I can’t wait until you spend the night with us again. This time we can make your pillowcases.
It was a busy weekend, but one of building memories.
Have you built any memories recently?
Enjoy the Journey, Jackie
