Going in Circles

Yesterday was a play day, mostly. A snow storm had cancelled work and while I did some work from home it was mostly a snow day spent sewing.

So I played with circles:

My first attempt at circles was quite a while ago on this space quilt:

DSCN3164 (768x1024)_wmIt was a perfect place to start learning because by the nature of what I was doing they didn’t need to be perfectly round.

I am father along in this quilt and got it in my head that I could quilt circles in a narrow (1/4 inch) border print. I really didn’t know what I was thinking at the time, I am just glad the quilt is wall hanging size and not bed size.

It is a lot harder to quilt very small circles than I thought it would be.

On this months Quilt It Challenge I decided to continue with the circle practice in different sizes. I found the medium size to be the easiest to keep round.

Mama Circles:

Daddy Circles:

I have to remind myself that a day spent playing is a good day, even if I didn’t get a lot done. I am trying not to define my “good” days by how much I do, as much as how it was enjoyed.

What have you done recently, “just because” without a reason?

Enjoy the Journey, Jackie

Wow Jackie, you are on a roll! Ha, Ha, see what I did there? Your quilting is super. Love how you labeled the circles by size like the three bears!

    • Jackie

Yes, I was on a roll. Thank you. I suppose the next step is to try my hand at freeform larger circles.

Great quilting! I love the space quilt!

      Thank you.
