Crazy Hexagons

P1150623 (1280x960)_wmI have been the recipient of these little hexagon sample kits from several different sources, so I have been working on these for quite some time. A little here and a little there when relaxing on the couch. P1150613 (1280x960)_wmThe prints are such that there are not enough of any one   to make anything significant with them so I separated all the pieces and added all them to my 2 inch bin. Leaving me with many 3/4 inch hexagon paper pieces.

I plan to make coasters with the pieces I have already completed:

Now I am thinking I was to use the neutrals I’ve been collecting for several years:P1150638 (1280x960)_wm

Do I do the typical flower pattern, random or something else?

I am starting to 2nd guess myself, and maybe I should make a sweet doll blanket vs a large quilt if I am using such tiny pieces.

What would you do?

Enjoy the Journey, Jackie

Hexagons are addictive, aren’t they. Your coaster idea is really good. As for your neutrals, that’s a really small size for a large quilt. You could start and see how you feel in time,or consider a larger size hexagon. The possibilities are endless.

They are addictive, but I am rethinking this.

  • Those fabrics are gorgeous, Jackie! I wish I had your dilemma…. Since those hexis are so small, maybe you could make a table topper??? I agree that is a lot of work to make them into a large quilt, but they are beautiful and worthy of display!

      Thank you Lorna,

I wish I had more fabric of the completed ones, I am still debating on how to use them.
