The 2nd Quarter Finish-A-Long is starting and this is one project I hope to get done in the next 3 months.

I started it last year with the intent of it being a Christmas gift. Instead I made a bed runner quilt – go figure. This is much smaller 11 x 20, not sure why I thought I could and did get a bed runner completed and not finish this.

It was inspired by this book, though my squares are 1 1/2 inches square instead of an inch square. That was plenty small enough.

I also “cheated” because I programmed my embroidery machine to do the satin stitch edges. I did not have the patience to get it right otherwise.

It took some doing to figure out all the fine details to get it “just right” but once I did, it went fairly well.

Now it is time for thread, beads, buttons, yarns and other embellishments.

When was the last time you set aside a project for someone to start one more complicated to do instead?
