Christmas in January

This is proof!

This is not a sewing or quilting blog post, but it is note-worthy.

For those that know me, you know I am not one to keep up my tree. In fact most years the ornaments and tree come down, the presents are all put away and the nativity scenes are replaced by snowmen the evening of Christmas or the next day.

This year when my daughter and family were not going to be able to make it for Christmas until late January, the comments went back and forth in emails, “Mom will never leave the tree up.” “It will drive her crazy to think about it.”

They may have made the comments as a challenge and I am always up for a challenge. So here it is the middle of January and all my Christmas decorations are still up, except for the wreath on the door.

Did I do it for the challenge, no. I have four grandsons coming to visit me in a week and I don’t want them to celebrate Christmas without a tree at Grandma’s.

Is it driving me crazy, a little, I try not to notice and remind myself why it is still up.

Merry Christmas Lonbergers, I can’t wait to see all of you.

What have you done lately for someone else?
Enjoy the Journey, Jackie
